FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS 2010
We would appreciate if
all payments be made in € (Euros), either in respect
of the registration fee or the balance. Payments can be either by
cheque, credit card or credit transfer.

Bookings for 2 weeks
will be accepted initially, and if vacancies remain, bookings for
one week (either 1st or 2nd week) will be accepted. All applicants,
however, should apply straight away to establish precedence on the
student list or waiting list.
Additional Fee for Poetry Workshop
An additional fee of €100
Euro must be paid in advanced by Summer School students who wish
to take the Poetry Workshop:
The number taking part in the Poetry Workshop is limited. Early
application is therefore advised.
Scholarships
The Yeats Society is delighted to
be able to offer a number of scholarships each year, to enable deserving
students and others to attend the prestigious Yeats International
Summer School in Sligo, which would otherwise be beyond their reach,
on financial grounds.
Applications are made to the Yeats Society, and are considered, in confidence, by the Scholarship committee, whose decisions are final, and conveyed directly to the applicant, and to the Yeats Society. Those who apply for Pierce Loughran Scholarships need not send an Application Fee. Pierce Loughran Scholarships cover the Application Fee, Tuition Fee, and Accommodation, but no other expenses. Those who appy for Tuition Scholarships must enclose the €100 Application Fee. Tuition Scholarships cover all or part of the remaining Tuition Fee, but the student must pay for accommodation and all other expenses.
Applicants are required
to apply under one only of the
following headings:
1- PIERCE LOUGHRAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Applicants are requested
to write , in confidence, to the Yeats Society, outlining their
interest in W.B. Yeats or other Yeats family members, and explaining
why they would wish to attend the Summer School, and why their financial
circumstances would prevent them from coming without a Pierce Loughran
Memorial Scholarship. This application must be accompanied, or followed,
by a letter of recommendation from someone of standing, who knows
the applicant, and his/her circumstances, and is able to verify
the application.Student applications may be made by e-mail or letter,but
recommendations
must be by letter directly
to the Yeats Society,and where possible,on headed note paper
Applicants may be of any age or background, and are not required to be either current students or graduates.
2- TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS
Applicants should be current undergraduates or graduate students with a specific interest in W.B.Yeats or any other Yeats family member. They must apply to the Yeats Society, outlining their area of interest and study, enclosing the €100 booking fee, and a letter of recommendation from their Professor or Director of Studies. A Tuition Scholarship of the remaining €550 (or a portion of this) may be offered, and the student is required to pay for all other expenses. In the event of a student not being offered a scholarship, and subsequently withdrawing his or her application to attend the Summer School, €75 is automatically refunded.
