In the relaxing surroundings of the elegant Victorian Hall, take a tour of the life of W. B. Yeats.
The Yeats exhibition comprises of a large phographic and static panel display and includes the esteemed Carey film, "Yeats Country". The exhibition outlines for visitors the Yeats family geneology, the people and places which were a major influence on the life and career of W. B. Yeats, the man as well as the poet.
Exhibition is open Mon-Fri 10am-5.00pm
Ask to see "Cast a Cold Eye", a view of W.B. Yeats through the eyes of his son and daughter, Michael and Anne, with comments by Seamus Heaney and other literary figures. Over an hour's programme outlining the life and achievements of the poet.
Four important heritage objects relating to the life of W. B. Yeats are on display at the Yeats Society Sligo. These prestigious items include original manuscript drafts of the poems 'Day and Night' and 'Crazy Jane meets the Bishop' by W. B. Yeats; and the Death Mask of John Butler Yeats.
